Built in Florida, this 3×12 lean to shed was built in Florida! This is a perfect example of how to use the sometimes seemingly “unusable” space between your house and the property line to add useful storage space.
This shed is 3′ deep and runs down the side of the house 12′. If you have an 8′ side yard setback and build a 3′ deep shed you will have over 4′-6″ of space between the front of the shed and the property line to move larger items like lawnmowers and bikes.
The pictures below show how to maximize your storage space by adding shelving on the ends of the shed and hooks on the walls. Keeping things off the floor by hanging them on the walls of the shed allows you to walk in and access the storage shelving on the ends of the shed. The shelving in the ends of the shed is the perfect way to use space that would otherwise be relegated to a single item sitting on the floor. With the addition of shelves you can maximize the storage potential of the dark corners of your sheds interior spaces.
