So, building a shed ramp is a small thing but I thought it deserved some attention. If you are building a shed then building a ramp for the shed will be something you need to know sooner or later. Upon research of this very popular topic I have found that the math skills needed to build a storage shed ramp are far beyond the 5th grade level. This led me to drawing pictures.

The picture has the standard dimension points of a shed ramp so that all the user needs to do is match up his or her ramp size with the picture and then look at the chart to get the cut lengths.

After you have cut out the ramp stringers you will need to assemble the shed ramp by doing the following:

  • Cut a ledger board the width of your shed ramp
  • Attach the ledger board to the ramp stringers
  • Attach the ledger board and stringers to the shed using lag bolts.
  • Attach deck boards to the ramp using 2 1/2″ deck screws.
You are now ready to test your shed building skills by dragging something heavy up your new shed ramp!
