How To Create Compost Instructions: An abbreviated explanation of how to create a compost pile and work it to create beautiful black topsoil.
Wood Construction: The wood specified is redwood or cedar because of their natural resistance to rotting but other woods may be used.
Walls Framing: 2x6 boards attached to 4x4 posts.
Wall Height: The top of the bin walls is 3' 2 1/2".
Single Bin: Three bins allow you to rotate the materials as well as keep different pile composting at different stages of decomposition.
Doors: The door is 1'-10" tall which allows you to have access to the compost pile to make it easier to rotate the materials. You can also use the door to remove the material once it is fully composted.
Door Latches: The simple door lock design uses pipes to hold the doors in place this is much simpler than using hinges and latches but hinges and latches may be used if desired.
