Very detailed and complete. So many U-Tube videos are poorly done or inaccurate. The plans will help a lot in making my materials list. Hi, all. We recently completed our 10x16 horse barn from plans that we purchased from you and I thought I’d pass along some photos from the finished product. It came out fabulous! We’ll be using to provide shelter for our two donkeys. Your plans were easy to follow and thoroughly detailed. We modified it slightly and mounted it on a permanent foundation rather than skids, but everything else is pretty much as depicted in the plans. I thought it was a longshot messaging you about this, but wow you really came through! I was planning on setting aside a good chunk of my weekend figuring out how to modify the plan without a truss roof design. Now I can simply submit this alteration to the city and get the permit today so I can spend all weekend building! I'd be more than happy to submit some photos of my build for you when it's done. Good evening, I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say your plans are excellent. The bill of materials was very detailed and allowed me to copy/paste into Excel for costing. The alternate foundation plans allowed me to do the same and when I went with the monolithic slab, the local contractor was very happy and built to spec! The construction is going excellent for this weekend builder. I couldn’t be more pleased. Thanks much for the level of detail in the plans. As promised…..I had my final inspection yesterday by the county.  The shed took me a little over 3 months working sporadically…..couple hours here, couple hours there.  I’m really happy with how it turned out.  It’s the biggest build I’ve ever done.

Finished my shed and received my final inspection yesterday.
It took me about 4 days to put in the foundation, floor system, walls, and roof system.
Shingles, siding, trim, paint, and the sliding doors took a little longer working sporadically.
I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It is the largest build I’ve ever undertaken.

I'm interested in purchasing your modern shed plans 12x16. I just need a backyard shed I can turn into my little workshop but I have to meet my HOA standard of 8' height restriction. Can this model be built with that height in mind? Also, my husband and I recently received a quote for a shed. All we gave this guy was the dimension, we never told him what style or anything just a plain backyard shed. This clown gave me a price of $11,000! And if I don't get drywall and concrete slab he can lower it to $7,000!!! (Really) I know he thought he saw a couple of dumb ass homeowners! (Sorry this really pissed me off) Can you please email me a materials list so I can price out everything and figure out if we can build one cheaper than the guys that sit on empty lots selling pre-built sheds. Hi Chris. We took some pictures of the whole process, since we were also doing some major backyard landscaping at the same time. All the trees and plants in that photo are also new – we started out with a plain grass field. Talk about a huge difference. I’ll have to split this into two emails … three more photos to follow. Cheers Craig I didn’t know you might want these for your website, but you’re more than welcome to use them if you think they might be helpful. We had priced out similarly-sized sheds at more than $5,000 (built and installed), and they weren’t anywhere near as good … lots of staples and poorly-fitting bits. We built ours for about $1,200 total, and it’s far better made than anything we could find (i.e. we used 2x4s, not 2x3s … 30-year shingles with a waterproof membrane beneath them … stainless steel screws on three heavy-duty galvanized hinges and door latch … etc. etc. There’s even waterproof membrane on the base of the 2x4s that contact the the concrete floor pad. We further installed roof flashing sandwiched between the 2x4 wall frames and the outer board coverings, so that any water that runs down the walls is deflected off the pad, rather than allowed to pool at the base of the walls (those bases are also caulked with silicone … not one drop will get in!). Pretty cool, really. So you saved us $3,500 and we got a much better shed. Plus, we had a great time building it. Thanks again … you guys really did make this incredibly easy. Cheers Craig & Laura

I deviated from the plans slightly on roof edge and the door.  I plan to put gutters and down spouts on it and we wanted a little more of a country barn door look. "I like the idea of constructing the unit from scratch, what I call stick building it piece by piece - we've seen the lightweight think plastic walled units from (a home store), ok I guess but the heavier wooden unit with permanent roofing will last longer and give better service.   It was a good plan and easy to build from, I don't think  the contractor had any difficulties with it."
