Bus Stop Shelter Plans are the perfect way to create a safe space out of the elements for your kids to wait for their school bus or car pool. Our simple bus stop designs have lots of windows so you can see whats going on from the sides and rear. These plans will help you understand how to build a bus stop shelter. Building a bus shelter is the perfect way to keep you and your kids out of the weather while waiting for the bus.
The sloping shed roof is the simplest roof design because it uses one board for each rafter. Installing roofing is easier because it is a single plane and there is no ridge.
The front walls are taller and the rear wall shorter.
BUILT IN BENCH: The plans include materials for a bench made from 2x3 boards. You can build it using the boards or install your own bench.
BUS STOP SHELTER FOUNDATION: These designs use a gravel base as the foundation. The floor framing is shown as treated lumber so it can sit directly on top of the gravel. You can change it to have the floor framing sit on treated wood rails.
BUS STOP SHELTER SIDING: The exterior of the shed is typically covered with T1-11 siding and 1x4 trim.
BUS STOP SHELTER ROOFING: The plans on the low slope roof call for asphalt shingles installed over a waterproof barrier. Check with the manufacturer as to what barrier they recommend. Typically it is asphalt roll roofing or Ice and Water Shield. These shingles are typically sold to provide a 25 year life or greater, up to 50 years, if you want.
BUS STOP SHELTER WINDOWS: The window shown on the plan is an optional feature, you may remove any of the windows.
